Outlook 2007 features and highlights

User interface changes

  • Outlook 2007 added the ribbon to certain content forms, including the New Message window, while keeping the conventional menus and toolbars in its main user interface.
  • Common functions are located on the Messages, Insert, Options, and Format Text tabs at the top.
  • The Office button replaces the File menu and is used to access application-wide commands.
  • The customizable Quick Access toolbar gives you convenient access to the commands you most commonly use.

Calendar updates

  • The new To-Do bar shows you your calendar, tasks, and newly arrived email all in one convenient place.
  • The calendar in Outlook 2007 is updated with an integrated task view that displays your tasks clearly below the day’s appointments.
  • Calendar sharing lets you share your schedule with others so they can see your appointments and meetings.

  • Instant Search lets you type a keyword and instantly search all the fields in your messages.
